Two Tone2 tone was a music genre created from a mixture of ska, punk, rocksteady, reggae and pop. 2 Tone, Stiff and Go Feet records were the pioneering companies, the former lending its name to the movement. Known as the second wave of ska two tone boasts some main stream bands such as Bad Manners, Madness and The Specials. The music term 2 Tone was coined by Jerry Dammers of The Specials who, with the assistance of Horace Panter, created artwork that was to become central to 2 Tone Records. The Walt Jabsco logo portrays a man in a black suit, white shirt, black tie, pork pie hat, white socks and black loafers. The fictional character was based on a photograph of Peter Tosh, a former member of The Wailers. This mug features a variation on Walt Jabsco with the words Two Tone in black and white, obviously, and the famouse chequered pattern. |
